Selecting the legal structure for your business is not just paperwork; it defines your liability, taxes, and ability to raise funds.
For Solopreneurs
Sole Proprietorship is cheap but risky. One Person Company (OPC) costs a bit more to set up but protects your personal assets. If you can afford the 1,000 EGP capital and incorporation fees, go for OPC.
For Partners (Small/Medium)
Limited Liability Company (LLC) is the gold standard. It requires no minimum capital deposit (practically), protects partners' assets, and is easy to manage.
For Big Investments
Joint Stock Company (JSC) is necessary if you plan to list on the stock exchange, engage in banking/insurance, or raise massive capital from many shareholders. It requires a strong board of directors and strict oversight.
Recommendation: Consult a corporate lawyer before visiting GAFI. Changing the company type later (conversion) is possible but time-consuming.
